General arrangement of gratings

Cutouts

Generally the gratings will be divided around cutouts in the middle of the grating deck to enable mounting/replacement of gratings after installation has been finished.
At large or special cutouts it may be necessary to reinforce the grating or mount an additional beam in the construction under the grating.

The gratings may be supplied with kik-flats in cutouts and/or along the sides.

All cutouts are generally edged with sheet plate in the height of the grating, or higher as a kick-flat.

Grating deck with mesh gratings

When dividing the grating deck into individual gratings we endeavour to make as many identical gratings as possible. Approx. 2 mm gab is allowed between the gratings in both directions in order to take up any deviations in design/grating. It is recommended that the gratings have a bearing of min. 30 mm. The gratings must be fully supported along both ends (supporting edges), - the span direction is marked on the drawing with "arrow".

All gratings are marked with pos. No. Gratings that are exactly identical (size, cutouts, kick-flats, etc.), are marked with the same number.
