General details about grating types SP, N, NP & Variable

Elefant gratings consist of vertical standing flat bars. The tallest bars are in the span direction and are called bearing bars. The transverse bars are called control and filler bars, and the control bars are used to keep the gratings square during the pressure welding.

Together, the bars form a pattern of many square/rectangular sections, called “meshes”.

The gratings are usually finished with an edge bar that can be made to suit your requirements.

Type SP is the most common type on which the vast majority of our standard products are based, whilst types NP, N, Variable & Louvre Gratings are primarily used in connection with custom-made gratings - often for purposes where requirements are made of design and aesthetic appearance.
